Entry requirements for undergraduates
For prospective undergraduates’ students, a flexible approach to admissions has been personalized for you. The requirements are highlighted as follows:
- Your previous qualifications
- Predicted achievement in the qualifications you are currently undergoing
- Statement of purpose or personal statement to show evidence of your commitment and motivation to your subject
- References about your personal qualities and academic potentials

For our undergraduate courses, it is expected to pass three GCSE subjects which include English, with a score of Grade C or 4 if awarded before 2017. For some courses, it is required to have a score of at least 4 in other specified subjects such as Science and Mathematics. Asides the teaching courses, other accepted skills are Level 2 Key skills or Level 2 Functional Skills.
Requirements for nursery and midwifery
If you scale through the admission hurdles, you are expected to book an interview with the school. There are several selection dates available which include Saturdays and Weekdays. The interview panel usually consists of a clinician and a member of the university academic staff. The interview is expected to last around 30 minutes.

The application process depends on the course of study you intend to opt for. For the application, you must provide all your required documents such as certificates and transcripts. A personal statement should be provided which should demonstrate why you fit in as a candidate as well as details of your previous experience and explains your plans for career advancement. For a research degree, it is expected that you write a well-detailed research proposal which will be an integral part of your application. Evidence of your English Proficiency
The most common way of providing evidence of your English is via the IELTS Academic test. The required IELTS score is stated as follows:
- Bachelor (undergraduate) programs – 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all components)
- Masters (postgraduate) programs – 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0 in all components)
